SPAWAR commander releases 2016 strategic plan

SAN DIEGO - In support of his seven-year vision launched last year, Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) Commander Rear Adm. David Lewis released his strategic execution plan 2016 on Friday, Jan. 22.

Outlining SPAWAR's role as the Navy’s cyber systems command, the strategic plan aligns closely with the CNO’s revised “Cooperative Strategy for the 21st Century,” an imperative to strengthening naval sea power and global information warfare systems, creating a “top-down” effort in which everybody must contribute.


SSC Atlantic Executive Director appointed CMO at SPAWAR headquarters

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Steve Dunn, currently Executive Director of SPAWAR Systems Center (SSC) Atlantic, has accepted a position as Chief Management Officer (CMO) at SPAWARSYSCOM headquarters in San Diego, California. As CMO he will be responsible for supporting the SPAWARSYSCOM Commander and Executive Director in leading and executing the command's strategic vision in administrative and business operations and transformation functions.

When making the announcement SPAWARSYSCOM Executive Director Pat Sullivan said,
"In this role we can leverage Steve's experience and leadership at SPAWAR while providing more bandwidth for the Commander and me to lead SPAWAR's engagement and role in the DoN's cyber future."


SPAWAR Systems Center Atlantic Executive Director appointed as PEO DHMS

Joint Base Charleston, S.C. - Naval Weapons Station -- SPAWAR Systems Center
(SSC) Atlantic's Executive Director Christopher Miller has been appointed as
a Program Executive Officer (PEO) for the Department of Defense (DoD)
Healthcare Management Systems (DHMS).

As PEO DHMS, Mr. Miller will be DoD's counterpart to the Assistant Secretary
of Information and Technology, Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). In his
new role as PEO DHMS, he will report directly to the Under Secretary of
Defense for Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics as the DoD Milestone
Decision Authority for the Integrated Electronic Health Record program.
