Erick Fry

Mr. Erick Fry was selected in December 2016 to serve as the Senior Science and Technology Manager for Cybersecurity, Test and Evaluation (Mission Assurance)/5.9 Competency Lead. In this role, he leads the development of the 5.9 workforce and directs activities within Mission Assurance spanning both functional and security domains to ensure the capabilities delivered to customers are secure by design, secure in development, and secure in operations. In addition to these efforts, Mr. Fry also remains engaged with Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command 5.0, Program Executive Offices, U.S. Fleet Cyber Command/U.S. 10th Fleet, members of the Naval Research & Development Establishment, and external customers to ensure implementation of a holistic information technology (IT) security and testing strategy across much of the IT capabilities the Navy employs.
Mr. Fry was a significant contributor to the organizational structure and strategy update for Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic (SSC Atlantic). He led development efforts of the SSC Atlantic Science & Technology Reinvention Lab (STRL) Federal Register Notice (FRN) – a proposal that supported the transition from National Security Personnel System (NSPS) to STRL and secured a technical leadership framework in support of the command’s future technology strategy. Mr. Fry has held various technical and operations leadership positions throughout his career at SSC Atlantic including Chief of Operations of the Intelligence and Information Warfare Department (Code 50D), Supervisor of Special Exploitation Systems Engineering (Code 713), and Project Lead of the fleet Network Operation Center (NOC).
Erick received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Brigham Young University and a Master of Science in Engineering Management, Minor in Systems Engineering, at the University of Alabama, Huntsville. He holds numerous technical certifications including DAWIA Level III Certification SPRDE-SE certification and is a graduate of the Federal Executive Institute for Leadership for a Democratic Society.
