Gabriel Bell

 

As a native of the Lowcountry, Gabe started his career as a summer intern at what is now NIWC Atlantic over 20 years ago in the communications department.

After graduating college, he returned as a full-time employee before eventually moving to industry after almost five years. During that time, Gabe maintained a continuous connection with the local defense industry in positions of progressive responsibility at various small businesses focused on the Charleston market.

Gabe’s first contractor job was opening the Charleston office for an 8(a) NIWC contractor (DKW Communications) based in Washington, DC. After several years and the company’s graduation, he helped a local colleague start his second defense contractor (Morgan 6), an SDVOSB. After performing as the COO for 3 years, Gabe moved on to another Charleston-based small business (George Consulting) to lead their business development processes and eventually assumed operational responsibility. Currently, Gabe works at an Alaskan Native Corporation (Akima) and leads their NIWC business development efforts.

Throughout his career, He has been an active member of the community through constant engagement with both the CDCA and AFCEA. Most recently being elected to the CDCA Board of Directors in 2023. Gabe is currently serving as the Co-Chair of the Membership & Partnerships Committee and Co-Chair of the Government Advocacy & Strategy Committee.
