Ron Ravelo

Ron Ravelo graduated from the University of Southern California in 1987 with a BS in Industrial and Systems Engineering.  Subsequent to graduation, he was commissioned in the US Navy through the Naval ROTC program and commenced flight training. In 1989 he earned his “wings of gold” commencing a Naval aviation career that culminated in command of the nuclear powered aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln.  After retirement from the US Navy in 2017 he joined the Charleston defense industry with Scientific Research Corporation (SRC) as a Senior Program Manager then Director.  While with SRC he managed a portfolio of key SRC programs. In September of 2021 Ravelo joined Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) in their Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic and United States Marine Corps (USMC) account as a Senior Director.  In May 2023 Ravelo was promoted to Vice President of Programs responsible for SAIC’s NIWC Atlantic and USMC account and the 950 SAIC employees that support  our nation’s warfighters.

Since joining Industry, he has remained an ardent supporter of the sea services through membership in the Navy League, Naval Order of the United States, and the Charleston Defense Contractors’ Association (CDCA). 

Ron has served on the CDCA Board of Directors since January 2022 and is currently serving as the Chair of the Education & Workforce Development Committee.
